The Worlds Failing Economy

Unless you have been living under a rock for the past few months you will no doubt have noticed the economy and financial markets are failing.

Or are they just going through an enomous shift. Is it simply a larger than normal adjustment? Or is it something more?

A Forcast Event

Many financial strategist have been discussing this global downturn for many years.

Robert Kiyosaki wrote a book titled “Prophecy”. It was one of many books and papers written on the subject. Published in 2002 it discusses why the biggest stock market crash in history is still coming and how you can prepare yourself and profit from it.

Now it is here we can no longer shrug it off as some silly “doom and gloom” view… .

There’s More To Come

If it is going to be as bad as the gloom and doom merchants in the media are wanting us to belive most people haven’t felt the pinch yet… but the will. Any financial strain you’ve felt so far is just the tip of the iceberg compared to what’s headed our way. And the biggest impact will be on the middle class around Christmas.

Understandably, many people are scared as their financial future is far from being secure. Having said that it is not the time to be stuffing your money into your mattress or hiding under the bed.

You shouldn’t do that, nor should you panic. The regulators are working hard and taking swift action to bring stability to the market. The best thing you can do is ride out the short-term ups and downs with just a few prudent adjustments where necessary until it all shakes out.

The Smart People are Planning Their Future

Don’t get caught in what I call the “herd mentality”. A little rule I have used myself when I find myself in a tight spot is ask myself “What is the herd doing?” And then do the exact opposite. Here are a few tips for a failing economy you may find useful:-

What You Shouldn’t Do

• Bail out. Right now everyone is running around dumping stocks or equity mutual funds now. This is silly as the values are especially low and it is simply guaranteeing that you’ll turn paper losses into real ones. Even if there’s more downside to come, staying on course often pays off during times of economic uncertainty. You’ll only realise a loss if you sell. What happens after a recession? A Boom. What happens after the sun sets in the west? It rises in the east.
• Stop saving. Those regular contributions you’ve been making to your savings or retirement accounts are an important part of good financial discipline, and there’s no reason to stop them now. The strategy of dollar-cost averaging your investments–making periodic contributions to your accounts, regardless of where the market is heading is still good advice.
• Speculate. While lower prices for investments create opportunities, betting on the markets can easily get you into trouble, especially with the wild swings we’re seeing now. Small, measured investments are usually better than large, hasty ones intended to make a quick killing. Be especially wary if you get tips from e-mail, the Internet, or elsewhere for certain stocks, commodities, and other “once-in-a-lifetime” opportunities
• Take on new debt. Be careful about acquiring new debt. Economic downturns can affect job stability and investment income, making it difficult to determine how much debt  you can handle.If you must borrow, say, to put a child through college or make an emergency repair to your home, be doubly sure that you’ve examined all the options and risks, especially if you’re planning to use the equity in your home
• Stop living. Although these times demand extra caution, there’s such a thing as over-reacting. Whether it’s buying gifts for the holidays or taking your family on vacation, life has to go on. And some cutbacks can have negative consequences for your wallet, such as putting off maintenance for your house or car or canceling insurance policies. So don’t overreact. Instead reflect carefully and, where necessary, adjust.

What You Should Do

• Get your finances in order. There’s never been a better time to make a budget and start paying down your debt, credit card and otherwise
• Rethink your plans to retire. If you’re expecting to retire soon, consider holding off for a while, if possible, until things calm down. That will give you time to reassess and, if need be, modify your plans
• Speak with your financial adviser. With end-of-the-year tax planning an annual ritual, now is a good time to make an appointment with your tax adviser no matter what the economic outlook. He or she may have some advice on how to tweak your finances as you ride out the current storm.
• Consider a Plan B. Instead of being scared, I’m encouraging you to look at starting or ramping up your Plan B. It’s never been more important than it is right now to re-plan how you make your money.

A Possible Solution

You need to do something different to create a stable financial future for yourself. One of the easiest ways to to this is to have your own home based business.

Now is the time to take action and learn how to build your own home based business… to apply yourself… to work smarter not harder … to find the time to get it done.

Find a Mentor

The quickest way to get where you want to go is find someone who has already done it and copy what they did. Or even better have them teach you how they did it.

This is simple enough in theory but in practice it is hard to find a mentor. Why is that? Well just because someone is successful doesn’t mean they can teach others how to do what they have done.

When it comes to Network Marketing Success there is another issue that must be overcome.

Duplication

Just because they can teach you, doesn’t mean it is something everyone could learn.

In the case of Network Marketing Success I think when you find someone who is a great leader you will also find your mentor.

So what are the leadership qualities to watch out for?

These are what I believe are the three cornerstones of leadership:-

• True leaders don’t develop people’s beliefs in the leader, they develop the belief in the follower
• True leaders know they are not good at everything and build a “Core Team” of people who have a talent in the areas they don’t
• True leaders have developed systems that their leverage time. The system has to be step by step and simple enough that an eight year old could follow it

Learning The Art Of Networking

Learning to network is one of the most important things you will ever do. Real networking is the art of building long term relationships. It’s not about how many people you can get to know, it’s about how deeply you know them.

Building great long term relationships takes time, and you need to take that time to allow the relationship to grow before you ever think of asking them to do something for you or participate in what you are doing.

To accomplish anything in this world you need others and they need you. If you think you know it all, you’re wrong and without input, partnership, and guidance from other people you will accomplish very little in your life.

Fortune is in the Follow-Up

There is one tool that I believe every network marketer should have. Most networker marketers think their biggest challenge is getting qualified leads. But I can assure you that the problem is not getting the leads. The problem is what you do with them AFTER you get the leads!

Making sure you can keep track and follow up with your prospects in a timely and organized manner is absolutely key to building a successful network marketing business.

Oprius is without a doubt the best follow up tool I have used to date.

Yes I am biased.

However, I believe you will agree with me after reading my review that Oprius is pretty much the complete package.

The Oprius Contact Management system was developed from the ground up entirely for network marketers. It has given me the essential tools I needed to automate my marketing strategies, leverage my time, and stay organized. It has helped me with every aspect of contact management from

• lead follow-up
• auto-responder communication
• scheduling calls, emails, or meetings
• creating “lead capture” and/or “landing” pages

1. Everything is in One Place

This is one aspect of Oprius that I love. Before I found Oprius I was using 4 pieces of software. Outlook, Excel, Word and Aweber [an autoresponder].

Outlook has many limitations. Three things I couldn’t find a good work around for that really ticked me off were

• locating prospects quickly. If there was no email address in the prospect details it dropped out of search
• could only search 2 things - name or company in my case
• wouldn’t search across groups

Before I started using Oprius my follow-up was a real shambles with bits of paper and notes everywhere. Worst part - most of it was in my head. As you’ll likely appreciate this is not ideal.

Since I’ve been using Oprius I never lose important details and can easily locate information quickly. This is really important when a prospect phones me and/or starts discussing their hopes dreams and aspirations - their WHY - this is the really important stuff that I absolutely want to record and be able look up again within 30 seconds.

Again [because this can't be over emphaised] because everything is integrated in a single place I can easily find and update any prospect or client file that I’m looking for with ease because all my calls, tasks, appointments, emails, and list mails are integrated in one place which helps me run my business like a professional.

2. Stress Free Calling

Making my phone calls is stress-free with Oprius’ unique phone assistant. Oprius came loaded with customizable phone scripts that were provided by the Queen of Cold Calling - Wendy Weiss. I have modified these and added my own as I needed.

I often find myself phoning other countries and time zones. This used to be very confusing. The way I used to over come overcome this problem was to load my prospects into a spreadsheet that sorted by country/zip codes. Apart from being a lot of work to load data into the spreadsheet it was not foolproof. Having someone yell down the phone “It’s 4am f….**!! off” was not an experience I enjoyed.

I don’t have this problem anymore as Oprius has an excellent feature that lets me know what the local time is where I’m phoning. So no more embarrassing moments.

3. Stay in Touch

I am now able to effortlessly stay in touch with the people who matter most to my success by using the Oprius stay in touch reminder. Even when I am away from my computer I am never late for a call or appointment because Oprius sends a reminder text message right to my cell phone.

4. Import Contact Data

One thing that really tipped the scales in favor of Oprius was that there was no need for me to re-enter all my contact information again. Oprius has this great little wizard that effortlessly imported my data straight from Outlook/Excel so I could start working right away.

5. Complete Video Guides

The built in tutorial videos, detailed help system, free live weekly training webinars, and toll free support number, have been a god send because I now don’t “sweat the small stuff”. If I need to find out something I go look it up or phone someone. If my team need to find out something I point them at this step by step resource and they go do it themselves.

What a time saver !!

After the initial set-up I have found my Oprius system is a breeze to use. Most of the time I don’t even need to go search the video’s to answer a query because it is so intuitive to use.

Two Paths To Travel

There are many paths you can travel to success in network marketing. However I just going to discuss the two main ones here.

1.The school of hard knocks - This is where you get in the game, you take action, and you learn and pay for your own mistakes from your own experiences. And you will pay because there is no road map - you can only learn on your own. This is not the road I would suggest, but it will lead you to where you need to go if you truly desire network marketing success.

2. The shortcut to success - This is where you leverage the experience and the mistakes of those that have travelled the road before you. They make the mistakes and you benefit from it. This will allow you succeed faster and than the trailblazer, because you don’t have to make the same mistakes they did.

For Example - Product Doesn’t Matter!

If you are flogging your companies product that is in your eyes going to change the world…..

Save your breath, your prospects don’t care about your product!

It’s a common mistake, I think we all make when are just getting started. Does this sound familiar? We find that perfect product and we see the opportunity behind it and literally fall in love.

I’m not saying that having a strong conviction to your business and/or product is wrong because I DO think it’s an absolute key factor in your success. All I’m saying is think from your prospects perspective.

• They don’t know you
• They don’t know your product
• They don’t know your business
• And at first they don’t care

In The Beginning

Your prospects only care about what’s in it for them.

Find out What do they want? Ask them what matters most to them, what are their biggest fears and what are their greatest aspirations . . .

In marketing, the person that wins is the one that knows his or her prospects biggest problems and greatest dreams and then gives them a solution to those problems that pulls them towards their dreams.

So interact with your prospects, just for a little, don’t sell sell sell, rather ask, ask, ask.

But be sure to keep a pencil and paper so you can take notes. Once you know these things you’ll be light years ahead of the competition.

It all starts with action, that’s the key. You take persistent and consistent action towards your goal and as long as you don’t stop you WILL get there.

More than likely, this money will be used for promoting yourself. In most scenarios however, the amount of money spent will be earned back within a little bit of time.

This Is Not A Get Rich Fast Scheme

Making it as an network marketer will take time, effort, and a lot of hard work. The more of these qualities you put into your business, the greater the success you’ll achieve. You should always be willing and ready to stick with your program to build up your earnings.
